The Problem

From thorough research and study, the Mac Lab team realized that students struggle to access their page to contact and patronize their service. A link embedded on the official school website granted students access but after multiple navigation and clicks, which was a struggle.

Solution

To address the accessibility challenges students face in reaching the Mac Lab's services, the team has decided to develop a dedicated, standalone website that provides direct and seamless access to all necessary information and resources.

Key Solutions Implemented

Standalone Website for Easy Access

  • A user-friendly, dedicated website will eliminate the need for multiple clicks and complex navigation through the school’s official website.

  • The new site will serve as a one-stop platform where students can learn about available services, book appointments, and contact the team effortlessly.

Simple & Intuitive Navigation

  • The website will feature a clear menu structure that organizes information efficiently, ensuring students can find what they need in seconds.

  • A search bar and strategically placed call-to-action (CTA) buttons will guide users to key sections like service requests, FAQs, and contact forms.

Direct Link & QR Code Integration

  • Custom short URLs and QR codes will be shared across school materials, social media, and posters to provide instant access to the website.

  • This reduces dependency on the school’s website and enhances visibility.

Mobile Optimization

  • Given that many students browse on their phones, the website will be fully responsive, ensuring a smooth experience across all devices.

The Takeover

The Takeover

I started working with the Mac Lab in April 2023, taking over the website from the brainstorming stage. At that point, the team had established initial ideas, but the structure and user experience needed to be defined. My first step was to translate those concepts into tangible designs, beginning with multiple iterations of low-fidelity wireframes.

I focused on refining the layout, establishing clear navigation, and ensuring a logical flow for users. Through collaborative feedback, I adjusted and enhanced the wireframes before progressing to mid-fidelity versions, incorporating more detailed interactions and refining the overall structure.

Once the framework was solidified, I moved into high-fidelity design, integrating branding elements, typography, and a cohesive color scheme to create a polished and engaging visual experience. Throughout the process, I prioritized accessibility, responsiveness, and intuitive interactions to ensure a seamless user journey.

Collaborating closely with developers, I ensured that every design element translated smoothly into the final build. The result was a visually compelling and user-friendly website that effectively communicated the project’s purpose while maintaining a strong brand presence.
